IT'S OVER!

My dissertation is finally all handed in so I can give my full attention to my studio work, and personal work, and blogging, and reading, and oh my gosh so MANY THINGS.

It was obviously a tough thing to write, but if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing. Also I got to spend a considerable amount of time looking at Rob Ryan's work so I can't complain.

My week on Twitter #3

It's been a very busy week as I had my dissertation to write and hand in, but I still managed to find some amazing stuff on Twitter this week. Some good reads, some thought provoking stuff and of course some design stuff. The "how obsessed with your phone are you?" animation was a particular highlight, I'd definitely recommend it. I also felt very nostalgic watching Eric Kallman's Old Spice ads, something I was introduced to at college.

But the absolute highlight of my week on Twitter/life in general has to be Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reuniting as Wayne and Garth (Wayne's World) for SNL's 40th birthday. EXCELLENT!

Instagram perfectionist

I would say my most used and abused social media platform would definitely be Instagram. I love it  because it allows me to be a complete perfectionist whilst sharing things I enjoy/have bought/what I'm eating/my face. Although it's not as obvious in these photos as it is in some of my feed, I seem to employ the knolling technique of photographing my stuff. Basically, Instagram has allowed me to be very organised and picky with the way I lay out and photograph things, and I'm not complaining.

I just thought I'd share with you some of my feed, as it's definitely a more personal insight into my life and the things I love. It's mostly food and books. And stuff.

Look how grubby my Macbook is

Now that I've brought attention to the fact my Macbook is covered in fingerprints etc because I spend too much time on it, let's forget it ever happened and move on. Please don't judge me.

I thought it would be nice to take some ~proper~ photos of derrianbradder.com as it displays on screen, accompanied as always by a brew.

In with the new

Say hello to my brand spanking new website, shown to you through poor quality screenshots.
You can see it in action at derrianbradder.com – it still needs some work on phone display but works perfectly on desktop. I'm really pleased with it, it feels a lot more "me" (lame I know).

There's a lot more going on this time around, a lot more work went into it, and overall it's just better. There's colour changing rollovers, the blog opening up in a new tab, and tiny flags.

Out with the old

It's not you, it's me.
It was time to finally say goodbye to my first website and start again completely from scratch, with new branding and a ~fresh~ look. But that's not to say I didn't love my first website, it was very me at the time and fitted well with what I was doing.

My week on Twitter #1

Twitter is definitely the place where I share most of the articles and work I find interesting, as well as the usual favouriting every other tweet that I relate to about drinking tea or napping. The former means I have a mini catalogue of things I like to go back to whenever I feel like, so instead of writing about them all I thought I would start a weekly round up kind of post for Sunday nights just showing you what I've been enjoying through the week. I hope you enjoy/find something of interest.
